Please join us for a Community meeting on Monday, September 15th at 7 PM in the Library meeting room. We will be meeting with architects Sara Rothholz Weiner, Michael Roehr and Chris Schmitt to view and discuss the preliminary plans for the Library Improvement project.
This past week we hosted a tour of the library and a question-and-answer time for visiting City Council members. The general response has been positive about the design and additions, and we are excited to share the graphics of the project with the public next week.
Our architects are working on pricing of the project so that it will fit within the library budget. While the City is contributing $1 million toward the renovated library, and we are using an additional $300,000 from Library gift funds, we are also working to raise additional funds to make the most of the opportunity to renovate and improve, building in the most flexibility, accessibility and efficiency possible. The Friends and Foundation are leading that charge; please donate to the capital campaign! Donations can be made here at the library, or on the Friends website at http://www.northfieldpubliclibraryfriends.org./capital-campaign.
